Kennel Construction Updates

About the Kennels

UPDATE 8/9/2010
PHASE II Underway....

The high demand for boarding at our kennel has encouraged us to break ground on our Phase II kennel a little earlier than expected.  We expect to break ground on the second kennel building by November 2010 to be open Spring of 2011.  Check back for updates on the progress of the expansion project.

Kennel Construction

The indoor portion of the kennels will be composed of 6-foot high dividers.  These are 4-foot high solid panels sealed to the floor to prevent cross-contamination between runs with an additional 2 feet of perforated panel at the top for ventilation.  All runs will be indoor/outdoor.  With 90 square feet of floor space, dogs will have the largest kennel space offered in the area.  Raised benches in the runs will serve as sleeping platforms.  Windows above the runs will allow extra natural lighting into the interior of the kennel.  All concrete floors will be warmed with radiant heat in addition to central heating and air conditioning climate control.  Indoor and outdoor floors will have a non-skid rubberized coating.

The outdoor portion of each run will be covered, and all ceiling areas will utilize acoustic tiles to help decrease noise transmission.  The outdoor kennels will utilized the same 4-foot high solid panels sealed to the floor to prevent cross-contamination with the top 2 feet having the perforated panel for ventilation.  The large exterior exercise pens will contain pea stone for ease of sanitation and cleaning.  For days that are not conducive to outdoor play, dogs will be able to run about in our indoor exercise/training area.  The entire kennel perimeter will be enclosed with a 6’ board-on-board vinyl privacy fence.  This will provide security as well as serve as an additional noise barrier.  A 3’ concrete walk will line the inside of the fence to prevent digging escapes.

Kennel Materials

After a lot of research and numerous visits to several kennels and animal shelters across the nation we decided to use all Mason Kennel Company products.  They were by far the highest in quality and the most willing to accommodate our special requests.  To find out more about Mason Kennels click here:  www.masonco.com

Raintree™ Kitty Condos will also be provided by Mason Company.

Other Services We Intend To Provide

  • An owner’s piece of mind and quality care for their dog is always our top priority.  What better way to ease your mind than to be able to see your dog and the good care that they are receiving while you are away?  Web-cams will be available in some runs so that owners may check on their pets.

  • A grooming room will be included in our Phase II kennel.  Your pampered pooch will look (and smell) as good when you pick them up as they did when you dropped them off.

  • We will also offer extended play and/or training sessions for your dog.

  • Agility and obedience lessons will be offered after the Phase II kennel is completed.
